Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published February 25, 1967 with caption: "School Centennial Sign- Myrtle Street Public School became the first public school in the city to display Canada's centennial symbol. It was built by G. M. Brooks, the school custodian. Mr. Brooks made the symbol from lumber, aluminum tinsel and Christmas lights. Here he places one of the last lights on his creation."
